Solidification in Multicomponent Mulitiphase Systems.

This topical teams objective is to develop a tool for predicting the microstructural solidification features of ternary alloys in constrained and unconstrained growth conditions. This research has several potential benefits, both on a purely scientific level in that it will help our understanding of materials, helping to keep the UK at the forefront of materials research, In addition it has the potential to aid the development of new specialist materials for industry.
