Atom Optics and Inferferometry in SpaceBose-Einstein condensates (BEC), otherwise known as cold atoms, has developed into one of the most dynamic research fields in physics. It has allowed the development of such devices as atomic clocks and interferometers, with unprecedented precision. On Earth, gravity hinders the working of these systems by reducing the cold atoms' avaliable measurement time. The aim of this field of research is to develop space-based atomic clocks and to study the long-term evolution of BEC quantum states. U.K Based researchers involved in this project K. Burnett C.
